London Luxe- Urbane Fashion & Lifestyle Exhibition
Fashion today is more of a personal expression. Women today are not slaves of what’s trending in the market. They are bold and confident, breaking the stereotype, making the industry ever so emerging. While designers are continuously toiling to create new definition to match the demand of the market, most have successfully retained the true essence of Indian heritage that is both rich in aesthetics and modern sophistication. We see colourful creations been sported by the Royals and celebrities across the globe.
Fashion Capsule by Mallika Jain – a Fashion and Lifestyle shopping exhibition brand (New Delhi- India based) hosts shopping experiences aiming to bring together multiple fashion lifestyle, creative and boutique brands all under one roof.
An early trend setter in Indian Fashion was Bollywood ( Hindi Cinema). Movies like Sahib Bibi aur Ghulam, Amrapali, Mughal-e –azam, Karz and Chandni introduced myriad trends which were then followed by masses. The leading ladies in the cinema have etched a mark in our memory – Madhubala’s anarkali and passa, Rani Mukherji’s short kurti suits in Bunty aur Babli, Madhuri Dixit’s stunning purple parsi embroidered saree adorned with kundan jewellery in Hum aapke hain kaun, the opulent blouses and benarasi sarees in Parineeta.
Some of our finest ancient traditional clothing have made a huge comeback into our wardrobes and our hearts over the last few years. It seems they are here to stay- ranging from the opulent sarees like Benarasi & Kanchipuram sarees, to the minimalist taant or dhakai sarees, the regal anarkalis, shararas and ghararas, to the classic and elegant chikankari suits. Victorian ornaments, the perfect accompaniment to the traditional clothing, were increasingly in demand.
Fashion Capsule won an award for the ‘Fashion Entrepreneur 2016’ felicitated by Shabana Azmi at an award function hosted by the Cancer Awareness Foundation and also second time in a row for, ‘The Best Fashion and Lifestyle Exhibition’ award at the Ravishing Wedding Awards 2015 which was felicitated by Sushmita Sen and for the ‘Most promising Fashion and Lifestyle Exhibition’ award at the Ravishing Wedding Awards 2014 which was felicitated by Huma Qureshi, respectively.
